sql server comes handy "performance" reports: in ssms - right-click server - "reporting" - "standard" - see many useful reports, "top queries total cpu time", "top queries average i/o" etc.
these reports aggregate data since last restart or since last query stats reset.
is there way see these reports for date range? "top queries total cpu time 10pm 11pm"? maybe there's sql server addon on or service should installed or something, allow kind or research?
real life use case: dba wakes , sees there "timeout" errors during night. wants see queries running @ moment , eating performance.
you can download ssms performance dashboard reports here , use custom reports sql server 2008, sql server 2008 r2, sql server 2012, sql server 2014. having access rdl file can customize want.
