i'm graphic designer/web-ui designer trade have (albeit limited) knowledge of access. haven't used few years have been asked company redesign front end of split database built using access 2010. had programmer design whole database, , works well, not actual appearance of front-end have asked me update 'modern design' so-to-speak (i.e. stylise buttons, fieds etc.)
i'm wondering, options have this? there way use css such stylise front-end? or there built-in design tools useful? plan produce concepts using photoshop show them it's knowing limitations of can done access in terms of front-end design. appreciated!
access built gui-intuitive. there's no 3rd party tools "pretty" up, improve functionality.
that being said, there's plenty of stuff can improve of it. drop option group down, delete label, change special effect "flat" , border color dark blue , you've got nice little box keep relevant controls grouped together. utilize color of form give little more appeal; find softer "slate" blue looks appealing , professional. white or soft yellow text looks nice on background.
add label stretches way across top of form. make background color darker blue , center text appealing "header" form, or can same thing inside option groups mentioned above.
most coders i've ever worked pretty happy making dull gray forms non-aligned textboxes , calling day. take little time snazz few ideas i've given (and can make yourself) , goes long way towards presenting application people don't dread using.
